If your CURE renewal in New Jersey came in higher, this is the source: CURE filed for a rate increase (SERFF CURE-134400950) and it was approved at +6.0% on about 45,552 policyholders, effective November 22, 2025. The figures below are approved filings pulled from the public SERFF system — not estimates — and every one links to its filing.
The +6.0% is an average. Your CURE change ranges +15.4% to −15.5%.
A statewide rate change is one blended number, but CURE did not move every driver by the same amount. Its own filing reports the spread: the largest increase in the book was about +15.4% and the largest decrease about −15.5%. So inside a “+6.0% average,” some CURE drivers in New Jersey were raised far more than the headline and others were cut. Where you land depends on your ZIP, vehicle, age and driving record.
CURE asked for more than it got.
The filing shows an indicated need of +9.0% — the increase CURE’s own actuarial analysis said it required — against the +6.0% it actually took. That gap matters for what comes next: a carrier that took less than it indicated has an unclosed gap, and the remainder often arrives in a later filing rather than disappearing.
Other New Jersey insurers are cutting.
An increase is only worth acting on relative to the alternatives, and in New Jersey the direction is not uniform: Palisades (−5.0%) filed decreases in the same period. A CURE increase alongside competitor cuts is the clearest signal there is that the market has moved and your renewal has not.
